“Someone (today) posted this 2001 interview Kelley Taylor Ryan, Maine gave me. Interview is one hour. I had forgotten it. All is interesting, but most important part, I think, starts at 35 minutes where I quote a 12-yr. old student in Minnesota, when I was speaking out there, saying to me, in opposition to school to work “I want to choose my future”. He went to an education hearing related to school to work with a huge sign with those words on it!
Video is loaded with history regarding Maine restructuring; I show the “Maine Faith Blue Book”, with Greek temple on front with pillars “family”, “church”, “business”, “school”, etc.; the Common Core booklet, giving the dates of publication. Remember how I said, I had a copy of Maine’s Common Core booklet, 1989, which said Maine’s CC had been used internationally! And that I couldn’t find that booklet. Well, in this interview I give the direct quote, which follows: “Maine’s Common Core in use in nine foreign countries.” The anti-CC people should have a cow over that statement on the back of the booklet published in 1989!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THEY THINK CC STARTED EARLIEST FIRST YEARS OF THIS CENTURY.
I discuss Maine Heritage, Gov. McKernan, Gov. King, school to work, Goals 2000, and just about everything imaginable related to Carnegie Corp. 1934 plan to use schools to change our capitalist economic system to a planned economy.
The red book I am holding in my lap is the 1965 Pacesetters in Innovation, the huge book which contains a 700 page index of all the dumbing down/values destroying programs published by the U.S. Office of Education. I also discuss Maine’s 1992 School to Work grant (the huge yellow book), and Career Opportunities, 2000.”
